Visit to Portsmouth, VA

Olive, Judith and Tristan in Olive's parlor. This shot cracks me up -- so devastatingly uncandid!

Tristan showing Great Grandma Olive how he can be an apple tree, holding up branches, growing apples, then letting the apples drop.

Olive, Tristan and Cynthia, on Olive's patio for a Kodak moment.

A pink November rose in Grandma Judith's garden just begged to have its shy, tender petals photographed.

At Huntington Beach on the James River

The latest, greatest stick discovery

The beach as canvas: Tristan's name spelled out clearly in the sand

With his trusty stick, Tristan draws a house in the sand -- backed by beautiful slender beach grass, a nice touch of color and texture in the landscape.

A fishing boat comes in to shore while the sun and clouds and water conspire to make it picturesque.

Tristan broke at least two of those posted rules.

Cool black rocks on the shore remind me of similar I saw on Maui (Dec. 2003).

I love that in this shot, T almost looks like just another rock washed ashore.

Tristan's footprint in the theretofore pristine sand -- next to a cool rock.

Tristan quintessentially being Tristan: happiest with his feet and fingers in the sand.
